Alondra learned the technique of working with mud at the AA Visiting School in Lyon: “Mud Body and Scripts”. The students applied mud to suspended pieces of lycra, pulled down with weights, after having simulated the resulting shape with parametric tools. Turned upside down, the dried pieces formed structural vaults consisting only of mud!

Of course, this is a very experimental approach to earth construction, but it inspired us to apply it in Casa Tumán as well. Hopefully we can use the mud of the site itself, since it naturally becomes very hard.
